How is this different from Google's Rich Results Test?

You can fetch a live URL to pull its JSON-LD automatically, or paste markup directly — handy for staging, password-protected or unreleased content you don't want to submit to Google. It checks syntax and required/recommended properties; Google's tool additionally confirms live eligibility for specific rich result features.

What does the validator check?

Accepted Answer

It parses your JSON-LD, confirms @context and @type, then verifies the required and recommended properties for the detected type (Article, Product, FAQPage, LocalBusiness, Organization, Event, Recipe, Review, VideoObject and more). It also flags properties that exist but are empty.

Can I validate a live URL or a whole HTML page?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Enter a URL and we fetch the page server-side and extract every <script type="application/ld+json"> block. You can also paste a full HTML page or raw JSON-LD directly in paste mode.

Why does it say a property is 'missing' when I included it?

Accepted Answer

Empty values are treated as missing because search engines ignore them. An author object with a blank name, or an empty image array, will be flagged so you can fill it in before publishing.
